Nice preloader, but...
It's a scottish song, I believe
Hey, I'm a foamy fan...
But this was fricken' SWEET!!
Great job on everything here, especially those rippling reflections.
Congrats on the frontpage!
For once, a trailer makes me wanna see more...
This looks like it's gonna be great.
I'd add background music appropriate to the action, that's about it I reckon.
Keep it up!
Nice game, but...
it was too slow. This was partly due to my computer being 1.7GHz, which is below your recommended specs, but partly due to the game itself. I think either the code may need some optimisation, or its due to the sprites, which tend to be labour-intensive.
I played on low quality. The frame rate stayed in the region 25-30. The units were sluggish, firing delay was longer than necessary, and the delay turret rotation should have been extended to happen even when not firing, or not happen at all, to give continuity.
The upgrades system itself was quite good, but the interface wasn't very intuitive. I took me about 30 seconds to figure out how to use it, which is too long.
I played up until wave 8 in scenario mode, then died. The sluggish nature of the game made me not want to come back to it. It needs to hook you before then, a lesson I learnt with my TD game.
I noticed in reviews that this is not a serious project. If it was I would suggest spending more time fine-tuning the game to make it easier to use.
But too much slow-down. Gradient fills do that. I'd advise adding to your code so that it only creates a particle every other frame, as opposed to every frame. Did you add code on the last frame of each particle to self-delete? If not you have a lot of dead particles floating around.
Nice showcase though. Perhaps a tutorial next time for those who need help.
It's too small!
But from what I could see, it was well drawn, and I liked the music.
I've adjusted the size, I made a mistake while submitting.
Thank you for your comment and review
...I don't recognise the theme from Metroid 3, because I've never played it! But, it would appear they used exactly the same theme in Metroid Prime for Magmoor Caverns!
So, going on that, I love what you've done with it. It sticks close to the original, but it has enough different about it to feel new. Well balanced, and captures the real essence of Magmorr Caverns, and, I assume, Lower Norfair.
apparently. Thanks for the review! XD
This was great. I listened to the whole thing. I like they way that, during the fuller sections, you made the thing sound more joyous than the orginal. I especially liked the way you mixed in the Cloud Tops/Dark Overworld theme into it. One BIG problem is the minute or so of blank time at the end of it. Trim it off, please!
Loved it!! First game I played. Not the best I've heard (Have you heard Metaljonus's?) But definately up there!
Great! And I loved the bit with the alternative chords!
Yeah, I'm a fan of Metaljonus. His definately is cool.
